WHO WILL MAKE TEAM CANADA?
CTVOLYMPICS.CA AND RDSOLYMPIQUES.CA INVITE FANS TO PREDICT CANADA’S MEN’S OLYMPIC HOCKEY ROSTER
As the very best Canadian hockey players gather in Calgary this week, CTVOlympics.ca and RDSolympiques.ca are offering Canadians the chance to play ‘General Manager’ of Team Canada with the launch of Fantasy Hockey 2010: Roster Predictor, presented by Samsung, bringing fans closer to the hockey action leading up to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Roster Predictor is an interactive fantasy game that allows fans to take the reigns and predict the final 23-man roster for Team Canada. Choosing from Canada’s top players, users can draft a team of 23 players, including three goalies, seven defencemen, 12 forwards, and one ‘swing-slot’ in which fans can select an extra skater at any position.
Team Canada’s final roster for Vancouver 2010 will be announced live in December on the numerous platforms of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. As part of the Consortium’s unprecedented coverage of Vancouver 2010, every second of Olympic Games competition will be available live, including men’s and women’s hockey.
CTVOlympics.ca and RDSolympiques.ca are the official online destinations for the broadcast of Vancouver 2010 and have priority access to the hockey players, coaching staff and executives at this week’s National Men’s Team Orientation Camp in Calgary. The websites will feature video highlights, photo galleries, live blogging from the Red-White scrimmage, and a live post-camp blog with Rogers Sportsnet Hockey Analyst Nick Kypreos on Aug. 28 from 4-5 p.m. ET, where he will take fan questions and provide analysis from the Camp.
Fans can also track real-time in-Camp highlights via Twitter and Facebook. By following @CTVOhockey, @RDSOhockey, CTV Olympics on Facebook and RDS olympiques on Facebook, fans can access special coverage and insights from the Orientation Camp in Calgary, getting as close to the action as possible without actually being there.
Roster Predictor complements a plethora of hockey features on CTVOlympics.ca and RDSolympiques.ca, including expert analysis, Team Canada athlete bios, hockey photo galleries and Olympic hockey previews.
