Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skiing is thought to have been around for at least 6,000 years. Identified as a practical method of transportation, the entire Swedish army was equipped with skis by the year 1500. As early as 1767, the Norwegian army was holding cross-country ski competitions among its soldiers.
