Team Gushue is two for two.
Newfoundland skip Brad Gushue led his rink to its second straight World Curling Tour title Sunday at the Shorty Jenkins Classic in Brockville, On., the team's second tournament of the season.
Gushue beat Edmonton's Kevin Martin 8-6 in the final.
Gushue, Mark Nichols, Ryan Fry and Jamie Korab opened the World Curling Tour season with a win last weekend in Switzerland.
The 2006 Olympic gold medalist, Gushue took down three Canadian teams that have secured bids for December's Roar of the Rings - the Canadian Olympic qualifier - en route to the title.
He beat Edmonton's Kevin Koe in the quarterfinal, and then edged Ontario skip Glenn Howard in the semi.
The semifinal came down to the last end, when Gushue put up a single point to make it 5-4 to push his team through to the final.
The semifinal on the other side of the draw was even closer. Martin and Dale Matchett of Bradford, On., were tied 8-8 after eight ends of play, and Martin needed an extra end to secure the 9-8 victory.
Martin has won the Shorty Jenkins Classic twice, in 2004 and 2006. The title is a first for Gushue.
Martin's rink of John Morris, Marc Kennedy and Ben Hebert got off to a good start in the final, scoring four in the first end, but were only able to put together two ends worth a single point each after that.
Gushue scored a single in the second end and three in the third to make it 4-4, and then solidified the victory with two points in the seventh and a single in the eighth.
On the women's side, Ottawa skip Rachel Homan beat Montreal's Eve Belisle 9-4 in the final. Both teams have qualified for Olympic pre-trials.
Homan was undefeated with a 7-0 record at the tournament.
At the September Shoot-Out in Edmonton, the other World Curling Tour event this weekend, Edmonton's Cathy King beat out fellow Olympic hopeful Cheryl Bernard of Calgary in the final.
King, who has earned a berth to the pre-Olympic qualifier, beat Bernard 7-3 in five ends.
Bernard has qualifed to compete at the Roar.
On the men's side, Bob Ursel of Kelowna, B.C., beat Edmonton's Randy Ferbey 5-2 in seven ends.
Ferbey has qualified for the Roar, while Ursel's team will compete in Olympic pre-trials.
The World Curling Tour season continues next weekend in Norway.
Italy's Giuliano Razzoli takes the gold medal in the men's slalom.
Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison win a tight race with the US.
