Champion curler Jennifer Jones secured a 5-4 victory at the Radisson SAS Oslo Cup in Norway, Sunday, after beating out Sweden's Anette Norberg.
Following a steal of one in the first, Jones opened up a 3-1 lead by scoring two with the hammer in fourth. Norberg replied with two of her own to tie the score and the two rinks traded singles in the sixth and seventh ends. With the hammer in the final end, Jones counted one for the eventual margin of victory.
The Jones team including Cathy Overton-Clapham, Jill Officer and Dawn Askin received $7,500 in prize money at the tournament - the first event of the season.
Jones, a three-time Tournament of Hearts champion and 2008 World Champion, competed against Switzerland's Mirjam Ott in the quarter-finals and Scotland's Eve Muirhead in the semis before coming up against Norberg, the 2006 Olympic gold medallist, in the final.
On the men's side, Sweden's Oscar Eriksson won against Norway's Thomas Ulsrud 5-4.
Canada's lone entry, a rink lead by Mike McEwen, placed fifth after losing 4-3 to Norway's Pal Trulsen in the quarter-finals.
Italy's Giuliano Razzoli takes the gold medal in the men's slalom.
Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison win a tight race with the US.
