Week five in the World Curling Tour wrapped up with three events finishing across the country today. Jennifer Jones led the way to her second victory in three years at the Trail Appliances Curling Classic, while the Bob Ursel rink dominated the final draw in the Westcoast Curling Classic.

Jones and her rink from Winnipeg, Manitoba took top honours at the Trail Appliances Curling Classic, beating the Chinese rink of Wang Bingyu with a final score of 7-4. Jones took command of the draw early, scoring three in the first end. Wang followed with a two point second, immediately countered by Jones with two more in the third. Both rinks continued to trade points, but the initial three scored by Jones would remain the difference, and Wang conceded the match after the seventh end.

Bob Ursel and his rink from Kelowna, B.C. took victory in the Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, B.C. with a final score of 7-1 over the Sean Geall rink. Being the hometown rink did nothing for Geall and his team who gave up two points in the first and third ends. Geall chose to end the game after Ursel scored a steal of three in the fourth end.

In the Manitoba Lotteries men's Curling Classic, Jeff Stoughton led his rink to a 5-2 final score, besting the team of David Bohn. Stoughton took an early lead with a steal of two in the first end, racking up three more single point ends before Bohn conceded the draw after the sixth.

Skip Brent Bawel of Calgary led his rink to a 5-2 final over Steve Mackey in the final round of the World Financial Group Classic on Sunday evening. The Bawel rink scored a steal of two in the fourth end to take the lead through to the end of the draw.

The next round of events starts October 16th, with three events on the men's calendar and two on the women's calendar.
