
Canadian curling teams lead by Kevin Martin, Glenn Howard, Mike McEwen and Randy Ferbey all advanced to Sunday's semifinal round at the Cactus Pheasant Classic in Brooks, Alta.
Martin's Edmonton rink beat Jason Gunnlaugson of Beausejour, Man. 7-2 in Saturday's quarterfinals.
Howard of Coldwater, Ont. beat Ted Appleman of Edmonton 5-3.
McEwen's Winnipeg rink topped Pat Simmons' team from Davidson, Sask., 6-5.
Ferbey's Edmonton team beat China's Rui Liu 6-5.
Howard and McEwen meet Sunday in one semifinal, while Martin and Ferbey meet in the other. Both are scheduled for 10 a.m. MT.
The final will take place at 2 p.m. MT, with the winner taking home a purse worth $70,000 CDN.
Howard is the defending tournament champion, and Martin won in '07.
Italy's Giuliano Razzoli takes the gold medal in the men's slalom.
Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison win a tight race with the US.
