Poykio withdraws from Euros

TALLINN, Estonia - Finland's Susanna Pöykiö has withdrawn from the women's event at the European figure skating championships here Saturday.

The 27-year-old Poykio, the 2009 European bronze and 2005 silver medal winner, is suffering from lower back pain and placed just 18th in Friday's short programme.

Italy's Carolina Kostner is leading the women's event heading into Saturday's free skating finale ahead of Poykio's teammates - Kiira Korpi and defending champion Laura Lepistö.
