Canada wins third straight game at Icebreaker

Canada's women's hockey team won their third straight game 3-2 against a local AAA midget team at the Icebreaker tournament in Calgary.

Jennifer Wakefield scored the winning goal in the third period of Saturday night's game against the Royals.

The first period finished without any goals.

The second period opened with the Royal's Trent Geiger scoring. Wakelief answered with a goal, followed within minutes by a second goal by Caroline Ouellette.

The Royal's Gui Glasspoole soon evened the score.

Early in the third period Wakefield slammed the puck into the net, assisted by teammates Rebecca Johnson and Hayley Irwin.

After beating the Calgary Flames AAA midget team on Thursday night, the Canadian women followed up with a 6-5 victory over the UFA Bisons.
