LONDON - Organizers of the 2012 London Olympics secured another US$14.7 million in domestic sponsorship revenue Tuesday by signing up Crystal CG as the games' official digital imaging services supplier.

Crystal becomes London's sixth "tier-three'' sponsor and will be responsible for providing images and animations to promote the event. Crystal is the 16th overall domestic sponsor for London 2012.

"It is encouraging for our commercial program that in these difficult economic times, many companies are thinking about the long-term importance of maintaining investment in marketing and business development projects,'' London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe said in a statement.

Crystal helped produce the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics, one of more than 150 projects.

London organizers are seeking to raise $2.9 billion from the private sector from sponsorships, television revenue and sales of tickets and merchandise. Organizers have seven top-tier domestic sponsors, three tier-two suppliers and six third-level partners.
