Alex Gough, Sam Edney, and doubles Chris Moffat and Mike Moffat, all from Calgary, finished with a combined time of 2:10.864.

Austria was second (Nina Reithmayer, Reinhard Egger, Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger) and Latvia finished third (Maya Tiruma, Guntis Rekis, Andris Sics/Juris Sics.

Apart from Innsbruck-Igls, four additional Team Relay events will be carried out in Altenberg (December 6, 2009), Koenigssee (January 3, 2010), Winterberg (January 10, 2010) and Oberhof (January 17, 2010).

The team relay is not currently part of the Olympic program, but The International Luge Federation, FIL, has applied to have it added for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.
