Figure skaters Joannie Rochette and Tessa Virtue, bobsleigh brakeman Heather Moyse and snowboard halfpipe competitor Brad Martin will walk the red carpet Sunday night at the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards held in downtown Toronto.
Retired figure skater Jeffrey Buttle, who won a bronze medal the 2006 Turin Winter Games, will also join the group.
Rochette and Martin will help present the Pop Video of the Year award alongside MuchMusic VJ Sarah Taylor at tonight's awards.
Performers at the show will include Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, the Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Rise Against and Nickelback. The Jonas Brothers will host the show while movie stars Taylor Lautner and Rachelle Lefevre of Twilight and New Moon, along with television actors AnnaLynne McCord from 90210 and Kim Kardashian of Keeping up with the Kardashians, will present awards.
Alexander Ovechkin, the Washington Capitals forward named the 2008-09 National Hockey League Most Valuable Player on Thursday night, will also attend, along with Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh.
Despite being surrounded by the glitz and glamour provided by some of music's biggest names all four Olympic hopefuls still have their sights set firmly on the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.
Rochette is coming off the most successful season of her career having won the silver medal at March's World Figure Skating Championship in Los Angeles.
Virtue, along with ice dancing partner Scott Moir, took home a bronze medal at the event.
"I have no idea what to expect," said Virtue, waiting to head down the red carpet. "It's amazing and I'm so excited to be a part of it."
Martin, a bronze medallist at the 2007 World Snowboard Championships, is preparing for his second Olympic appearance after finishing 16th in the halfpipe competition at the 2006 Turin Winter Games.
"Awesomeness," said Martin. "I expect a good time and a good show."
Moyse, who finished fourth at the 2006 Winter Games, will be looking to lock up a spot on the 2010 team as the brakeman for either Helen Upperton or Kaillie Humphries, who are Canada's top two female bobsleigh pilots.
