I agree that Marc Savard was snubbed... why I don't know. I would have Savard over Spezza on my team anyday. Spezza is too soft and Savard can put more points up on the board. If he wasn't asked because of not playing in the past I guess that makes team Canada a good ol' boys club does it? Maybe that's why our "dream team" finished 6th or 7th in Turin.

The team should be chosen for wha you can do right now. Savard, top 10 point getting every year for the last 6 years and he plays both ends of the ice very well. I'm not so concerned with what he has done in the past, I'm more concerned with what he is doing right now (I'm not impressed with anyone pro athelete that nixes the call of his country - Mr. Nash and basketball). However, te goal here is to win, not to pick players based on their previous answers to the call. I love Joe Sakic, but he was a wrong choice for this team. Too old, too slow and not producing regularly enough. Did Stevie even check before he announced the roster (you know, given that Joe retired within weeks of being named). Doesn't look like management has a great grip on the roster. But, this is Canada and even a non-hockey fan could put together a decent roster of Canadian born professional hockey players. Lucic will bring what this team needs while playing in Canada, more specifically, Vancouver, energy, hitting and home town pride.

Wanna know why Savard didn't get invited? 1) Savard refused to play for Canada at the World Championships repeatedly when he was on non-playoff teams in Atlanta, choosing to do other things during May. 2) Canada has no shortage of centers. 3) Canada has no shortage of playmakers. Stevie Y didn't blow it. Savard blew it. Lucic will be a long shot to make the team, but if he does it will be because of the physical game and how he energizes the team with hits and checking. Savard isn't a big hitter or energy player last time I checked.

The sweater is not all that impressive. Doesn't really "represent" ALL Canadians. I'm amazed at some of the picks on this team, what amazes me even more is that given a second (and third) chance to put Savard on the team Stevie Y blows it. The team looks good, but so did the team in Turin. Can you imagine wahat a gifted playmaker like Savard could do for Crosby, Heately, Iginla, St. Louis, Vinny and the rest of them. A real Opportunity missed.

still not sure what moron chose Milan Lucic over Marc Savard. Savard has more goals, assists, better +/-, kills penalties. Lucic will be a liability like Bertuzzi was last olympics... This is elite hockey not goon hockey

Horcoff who? Why not Dustin Penner? Get real. Look at the list of 46, incredible.

How about we get Horcoff in for Heatly. Horcoff has always been there when asked for Canada.

Both Rosters look good enough for 2 Team Canada's. When has Getzlaf been playing for the Preds? I must have lived under a rock and its the 2014 Olympics and the Preds have a winner

Last I heard, Ryan Getzlaf plays for the Anaheim Ducks, not the Nashville Predators...
