About Short Track

Short track Speed Skating
Short track Speed Skating

Short track evolved when long track skaters began looking for a way to practise indoors.  Competitors found that practising on a smaller track brought new challenges, like tighter turns and shorter straightaways which led to different techniques in order to win on a shorter track.

Competition Preview

Quick on their feet

Short track speed skating is a face-paced event in which the winner is not necessarily the fastest skater, but rather the most strategic skater who can overtake others without obstruction.
