Cypress Mountain was golden for Canadians with the day belonging to Jasey-Jay Anderson. Rain belted the course and the athletes all morning and fertilizer was sprayed on the course to make the snow hard and fast.

A downpour at Cypress Mountain didn't stop the world's best females alpine snowboarder racers from going for gold, although it my have washed away Canada's home court advantage. Canada's best result was a 12-th place finish by 37-year-old Alexa Loo of Richmond, B.C..
