Vancouver 2010 was the Canadian short-track team's time to shine, with 2014 considered merely a year in the distant future.

Not fully recovered from an ankle injury, he was not able to skate at the Olympic selection races held in 2009; however, he was granted a bye and Vancouver 2010 will be his third Olympic Winter Games.

Has earned three medals in just two Olympic Winter Games: two silver medals in Turin 2006 and one gold medal in Salt Lake City 2002.
