Hundreds of cheering fans crowded into an area of Winnipeg's airport to welcome home Olympic gold medal champion Jon Montgomery, who took the top prize in the skeleton event at the Games in Vancouver.

After finishing second in the overall World Cup standings in 2007-08, Montgomery could only manage a single medal during the entire 2008-09 World Cup schedule.
