Hundreds of cheering fans crowded into an area of Winnipeg's airport to welcome home Olympic gold medal champion Jon Montgomery, who took the top prize in the skeleton event at the Games in Vancouver.
After finishing second in the overall World Cup standings in 2007-08, Montgomery could only manage a single medal during the entire 2008-09 World Cup schedule.
In just three seasons of competition, Jon Montgomery is already a two-time Canadian national champion, a world championship silver medallist and has earned seven World Cup podium finishes.
Italy's Giuliano Razzoli takes the gold medal in the men's slalom.
Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison win a tight race with the US.
