Canada sets Olympic record in rout of Slovakia

The Canadian women's hockey team's opened its gold medal defence with a record-setting 18-0 win over Slovakia. Jayna Hefford picked up an Olympic record six points in the victory.

Competitive history »

Poulin starred for the Montreal Stars, leading all rookies in scoring with 22 goals and 21 assists in 16 games in 2007-08 before helping the team win a Canadian championship in 2009. She also played for the Dawson College Blues.

Career highlights »

Poulin debuted with Canada's Under-18 team in the fall of 2007 at age 16. She won a silver medal at the Under-18 Worlds in 2008 before becoming the youngest member of the senior roster heading to the 2009 World Championship.

Poulin made her debut with Canada's senior national team at the World Championship in 2009 after having been named the top forward at the 2008 Under-18 World Chamionship.
