Canada thumps Switzerland to advance to semifinals

The Canadian Women's team continues to roll through the competition in the preliminary round as they thumped Switzerland 10-1 on Monday, automatically advancing to the semifinal round next.

Johnston is in the midst of an outstanding college career at Cornell University, where she won the 2007-08 Ivy League Rookie of the Year. At 17, she was the youngest player on Canada's Under-22 team.

Career highlights »

Johnston has won two gold medals with the National Women's Under-22 Team at the Air Canada Cup before making her debut at the 2008 IIHF World Women's Championship, playing in all five games.

Johnston won two World Championships silver medals with Canada(2008-2009). She also won another silver medal in 2008 at the 4 Nations Cup.
