YELLOWKNIFE - After being carried through extreme Arctic temperatures in recent days, the Olympic flame is making its way to a slightly warmer climate.
The torch for the 2010 Winter Games moves from Yellowknife to Grande Prairie, Alberta, Friday morning.
After a community celebration at a Grande Prairie park, the Olympic flame will be carried to Fort McMurray.
While there, torchbearers will include Steven Jani, who also carried the flame for the 1988 Calgary Games.
The torch will wrap up Friday at a Canadian Forces base in Cold Lake, where this country's fighter pilots are trained.
The 106-day Olympic torch relay will span 45,000 kilometres and visit more than 1,000 communities.
