U.S alpine star Lindsey Vonn has now won back-to-back downhill races at Lake Louise on her way to becoming the World Cup circuit's most successful female racer on this course with seven wins.
The 25-year-old two-time defending overall World Cup champion was victorious Saturday on the 3-kilometre course in 1 minute 50.06 seconds. She won on a shortened downhill course due to inclement weather the day before.
In a near case of Groundhog Day, the other women who joined her on the podium Saturday were also there Friday during the first race of the speed season.
Maria Riesch of Germany was second on Saturday, just 0.35 seconds behind Vonn, while Canada's Emily Brydon was third, 0.70 seconds back.
On Friday, Brydon was second and Riesch was third.
With two podiums and a number of solid performances, the Canadians are having a banner weekend on the Lake Louise course.
Britt Janyk was eighth Saturday, following up her fourth place finish the day before. Kelly VanderBeek was 13th matching her showing the day before and Larisa Yurkiw was 16th.
