Sweden's Anja Pärson racked up her 41st career win in the women's super combined World Cup event in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Paerson finished in a combined time of two minutes, 00.54 seconds. Austrian Michaela Kirchgasser finished second, in 2:00.97, while third went to American Lindsey Vonn, in 2:01.46.

"I wanted to do well, it's very important before the Games," she said.

"This victory is really perfect ahead of the Olympics."

Paerson added: "I'm patient. And if you work, its pays off. However, up until now my season wasn't terrible, I was often in the top 10.""I'm really very pleased," Vonn said.

"The points are welcome for the super-combined World Cup and especially for the World Cup overall."

A day of mixed results for Canadians saw Shona Rubens finish a career-best 10th place, with a time of 2:02.32.

"I'm pretty stoked for sure," said Rubens, whose previous World Cup best was a 15th-place finish. "My super-G was actually not that awesome but I made up for it in the slalom. It lets me know that I am in there in the slalom and I know that I have more to give in the super-G."

20 year-old Georgia Simmerling of West Vancouver, B.C. was airlifted to hospital after a crash during the opening super-G portion of the race. Her injuries are minor and she has been named to join the Olympic team after Alpine Canada was allocated three more spots for the 2010 Olympic Games.

Canada's Emily Brydon finished 20th, while Marie-Michele Gagnon failed to finish the first run.
