Marion Trott's performance is one to remember coming out of the 2009 skeleton season. The 24-year-old from Germany proved false any theory that a skeleton athlete can't win without a competitive start.

After finishing the first run in sixth place, Mellisa Hollingsworth negotiated heavy snow to win the bronze in her final World Cup race of the season. Hollingsworth finished the 2008-09 season seventh overall.
